The Keeler Apartments, Minneapolis, MN
The Keeler Apartments are a very unique project in that an existing church was torn down on the campus of the University of Minnesota and a student apartment building was constructed that included room on the ground level for this church group.
The building has 5 stories in addition to an underground parking area. The main level and the 2nd floor level have a precast plank and beam framing system, above the 2nd floor the structure is wood framing. At the top of the apartment is a unique steel "crown" feature.
The site design was complicated by a very small and tight site while creating a driveway down to the underground parking.
