Clark provided structural services for this project, meeting the very agressive schedule of just 13 months from design to completion.The tight schedule and the state gaming requirements were a challenge easily met by the experienced design team to complete the 5-story, 200-room hotel and 175,000 sq ft casino. At the time the project was designed, the State of Iowa required the gaming floor to be above water. To comply with this requirement, Clark designed the structure with water bladder liners below the gaming floor. Above the bladders, precast planks were used to support the foundation walls at 24 feet on center with standard spread footing. The steel and post-tensioned concrete systems were an efficient choice to meet the timeline and structural needs for this type of facility.
