Possible locations include Aberdeen, Brookings, Sioux Falls, or Watertown. This is an excellent career opportunity for an emerging leader who is a hardworking, multi-talented individual with design experience in municipal, roadway, and site development projects. This position includes both field and office duties as well as client relations, project management, and supervision. The ideal candidate is a licensed professional engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience.

Structural Engineer

Qualifications:
PE designation required.
Five or more years experience in design of educational, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial projects in structural consulting or A/E firm.
Bachelors Degree or higher in civil/structural engineering from an accredited college or university.
Masters Degree preferred but not required.
Experience in new and restoration design with concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures.
Experience in latest building code design requirements.
Design experiences must show progressively greater responsibility in project assignments.
Ability to show ingenuity in design.
Ability to interact with and satisfy clients and other team members.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting to keep projects on scope, on budget, and on time.
Must have basic knowledge of field observations.
AutoCAD and/or Revit skills a plus.
Must possess strong technical and report writing skills.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
Must demonstrate a high level of initiative, accuracy, and efficiency.
A flexible working style as required to satisfy client/project needs.
Must be able to project professionalism and confidence in a positive manner.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Occasional travel may be required.

Laser Scanning Technician/3D Modeler
Join a well-established, growing engineering firm and expand your career in the field of laser scanning. Clark Engineering Corporation has an immediate opening for a Laser Scanning Technician/3D Modeler in our Minneapolis office. This is an excellent career opportunity for a hardworking, talented individual who has 2-10 years of AutoCAD, Cyclone, and/or Revit experience. Minimal travel might be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Scan data processing.
Modeling and creating 2D plans from laser scan data collected using state-of-the-art laser scanning systems.
Qualifications:
Prefer Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Drafting or Surveying Drafting.
Minimum two years experience in 3D modeling using AutoCad, Cyclone, or Revit.
Must have Leica training and/or Cyclone modeling training
Experience with Cloudworx a plus.
Experience working in the specific disciplines of mechanical piping, industrial, civil, structural, or architectural applications is a plus.
Some outside laser scanning knowledge and experience would be helpful.
Understanding of surveying practices.
Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet fixed deadlines on a timely basis.
Must have the ability to work both as an individual contributor and within a team environment.
Requires good organizational, problem solving and self-management skills.

Civil Engineering Internship – Aberdeen, SD
Clark Engineering Corporation, a leading Midwestern civil engineering consulting firm with a 75-year history of providing award winning engineering and surveying services, is offering an outstanding paid Civil Engineering Internship opportunity at our Aberdeen, South Dakota location. This internship begins in mid-May and lasts through August.
Duties May Include:
Assisting with on-site inspections at construction projects, water or sewer projects, developments, or roadways.
Assisting survey crew as a survey crew member.
Providing technical support and assistance to engineers and surveyors using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Qualifications:
Must have college-level coursework in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
Prefer students entering their third or fourth year of college.
0-4 Years Survey crew experience.
Experience using CADD to make revisions, corrections and additions to drawings from marked-up drawings is beneficial.
Ability to work as part of a team or independently as necessary.
Out-of-town travel and overtime required.
Able to communicate effectively in routine situations (one-on-one and small groups) with coworkers, clients, contractors, and others.
Must be able to transport, assemble, dismantle and maintain engineering and surveying equipment.
Must like to work outdoors in all kinds of weather, walk long distances and lift from 40-70 pounds.
Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to our corporate motor vehicle insurer.
